Privacy Policy for IELTSFy AI
Last Updated: 30 October 2026
1. Introduction
Welcome to IELTSFy AI (“we,” “our,” or “us”). We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring transparency about how we collect, use, and safeguard your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains our practices concerning the data we collect through our mobile application.
By using IELTSFy AI, you consent to the data practices described in this policy.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Personal Information
- Account Information: Email address, password, and account preferences when you sign up
- Contact Information: Email address for authentication and communication
- Sign in with Google or Apple: If you choose one, we receive your name and email address (or Apple’s private relay email) from that provider to create your account. We never see your Google or Apple password.
- Payment Information: Processed through Google Play In-App Payments and Apple App Store In-App Payments (we do not store payment card details)
2.2 Technical and Usage Information
- Device Information: Device type, operating system version, unique device identifiers, IP address
- Usage Data: App features accessed, time spent, progress tracking, test results, study patterns
- Analytics Data: Collected through Firebase and Google Analytics including:
- App usage statistics and session data
- Performance metrics and crash reports
- User engagement and feature usage
- Learning progress and assessment results
- Website Visit Data: When you visit ieltsfyai.com, we record anonymous visit statistics (pages viewed, the website that referred you, country, device and browser type) using Independent Analytics, which runs on our own web server. It does not use cookies, and this data is not shared with third parties.
2.3 Learning and Performance Data
- Practice test results and scores
- Study progress and performance metrics
- Vocabulary tracking and skill assessment data
- AI-generated learning recommendations and adaptations
2.4 Voice Answers and AI Feedback
- Microphone: Speaking practice and the AI Tutor use your microphone only while you are answering. You can deny or revoke microphone access in your device settings; speaking features will then be unavailable.
- Speech recognition: Your spoken answer is turned into text on your device (or by your device’s built-in speech service). We do not upload or store your voice recordings.
- AI scoring: The text of your answers, the question and your target score are sent to our servers and to a third-party AI model provider to produce band scores, corrections and model answers. This text is used only to give you feedback.
- Study details you choose to add: Your exam date, target band and first language, used to personalise your daily plan and feedback.
- Rewards and referrals: Your coin balance, daily streak and rewards, and invite codes you share or redeem. On Android, when you install the app from a friend’s invite link, the app reads the Google Play install referrer to apply their invite code.
- Reminders: Practice reminders are scheduled on your device using the time of day you usually practise. You can turn notifications off in your device settings.
2.5 Advertising
The free version of IELTSFy AI shows ads served by Google AdMob, including optional rewarded videos that give you coins. AdMob may collect your device’s advertising ID, IP address and ad interaction data to show and measure ads and to prevent fraud. When you watch a rewarded video, Google confirms the reward to our server together with your account ID so your coins can be credited.
You can reset or delete your advertising ID, or opt out of personalised ads, in your device settings (Android: Settings → Google → Ads; iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking). Pro subscribers and Exam Pass holders do not see ads.
